Armchair Adventure Travelers

Community Members and guests are welcome to attend the Armchair Adventure Travelers program.  Join us on the 1st Friday of each month at 7:30 on Zoom (We will not meet in December). We will be continuing our travel program on Zoom since so many of our members don’t care to drive at night.  For Zoom link information, please contact  Laurie Lindsey (303) 941-1956.

November 1, 2024 – “A Brazilian Wildlife Adventure”.  Mercury Freedom is returning to present his trip to Pantanal Brazil.  We will see many interesting “critters”, including Jaguars, Giant River Otters, Cayman, amazing birds, including Jabaru Storks and Kingfishers galore!  In addition, Mercury will share a little about eh Brazilian Cowboys, along with some amazing photos.

October 4, 2024 – “The Best of Italy”. (click on the link at left to view the video).  George and Tamar Mednick are returning friends of our AAUW Travel section. They have presented many wonderful travel programs. In this program, we will explore Piedmont, Tuscany and some hidden gems of Italy. George and Tamar will present a photo tour of their recent trip to rural and unspoiled regions of Italy. The presentation will explore small towns in the Piedmont, Tuscany and Umbria regions of Italy, and the municipal state of San Marino.
We will also revisit especially memorable sites from previous trips to Italy that the tourist crowds never find. Pour a glass of Barolo, and join us!

May 3, 2024 – A Month in the Antarctic – presented by Bunny Laden and Glen Gould. The attached video is missing several minutes from the beginning, but it is still wonderful to see.  In addition, Bunny’s “Epic Antarctica Book” can be ordered from MagCloud.  Bunny also provided a reading list.
